Ill equipped and untalented the team headed out to Kurrajong for our first foray in the world of 4X racing this weekend. As you can see from the results above it was a pretty successful outing although the learning curve was pretty steep. No injuries to report though!

Some focused on the Elite competition but the real action was clearly in C-Grade men’s with 3 of the 4 finalists hailing from the WLaD factory team. Competition was fierce with very close finishes all day. D-Fox is pictured below on his ride to glory. Looks like the Hulk in body armour!

In the end the stage was set for a huge final with cRash, D Fox and TC (moi) making up 3 of the four. Matt from Newcastle rounding out the 4 and definitely would have been considered favourite heading into the final scramble. The gate dropped and you could have thrown a blanket over the Field for the first four turns. A little contact on Turn 3 and I though I might be in with chance. But Matt and D-Fox threw open the throttle through the lower part of the course. The field closed up again through the techy bottom section with more contact on the final corners. Finally a blaze of glory though the final sets of doubles and Dave and Matt had taken 1 and 2 respectively. I hung in for third with cRash breathing down my neck to take 4th. It probably only took 45 seconds but it was a hellava ride.

Triumphant we chilled and watched the Elite final which was very intense racing.

A special thank you from me to Dave B who went to NZ and left me a bike to race on. FANKS BRU! I promise I didn’t treat her too badly. For info on the next rounds and a full set of results check it here.
